Join us Saturday, May 21st for our second annual Going Places Gala and help us support our mission "to provide disadvantaged kids with their most basic childhood right - A right to Joy."
SweetGrass Capital presents, Going Places' Gala, "N Night Under the Tent", Powered by REV Federal Credit Union, will be a special evening where we will be reliving your favorite childhood memories of Joy.
We will have the aerial bartender back, music from Flash Mob, open bar, heavy hors d'oeuvres, live and silent auction, and plenty of surprises throughout the evening!

Our "A Night Under the Tent" is certain to bring you back to relive your favorite memories of childhood Joy!!!

We have to postpone the in-person gala {again} from the rescheduled date of Sept. 26, 2020 due to (as I'm sure you can guess) Covid-19.
As much as we are disappointed, it is our number one priority to keep the community safe and so we have come to this difficult decision. The new, rescheduled in-person gala date is Saturday, May 15, 2021!
You can expect all of the same amazing entertainment previously scheduled for the gala! Any previous ticket holders and sponsors will be transferred to the May 15, 20201 date! But in the meantime, join us for a FREE, live, virtual, fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020!

The Joy Outreach Team is back for year two of fundraising!
We are so honored to have these amazing eight people fundraising for Going Places during the entire month of August! Everyone has selected their own fundraising goal to meet during the month of August! Follow along to see what virtual raffles, collaborations, and fundraisers they each have going on during the month!
Collectively, our goal is to raise a minimum of $20,000 so we can help fund our 7th and 8th grade schools in 2021!

BUNDLES OF JOY
We have been thinking about how we can spread Joy NOW to the disadvantaged kids who are quarantined at home due to Covid-19 since we can't give out our bikes.
We decided to create ""Bundles of Joy"" which are bags filled with activities for the whole family to enjoy together! Each bag will have (use an emoji in front of each line item):
4 coloring books
2 packs of crayons
6 pack of different card games
Mini Terrarium (generously provided by Wonder Works)
either legos or a mini Jenga
We will go to one of the largest food pick up locations at a school where 120 families come through daily (1,000's of people make up the member of those families) and give out our ""Bundles of Joy,"" one to each family. People can purchase the items needed to make the Bundles of Joy from our Amazon wish list:

A little boy named, Chase, decided to do a fundraiser for Going Places to help raise money for kids his own age who can’t afford what he loves most; a bike! BEADS FOR A PURPOSE
8th grade service project​:​ Beads for a PURPOSE, Spreading Joy with Bikes! Ryley Dengler​ has selected Going Places for her 8th grade community service project! When you make a donation through her CrowsRise fundraiser to Going Places of $25 or more​, you will receive a handmade beaded bracelet from her!

HOLIDAY COCKTAIL PARTY!
SweetGrass Capital's is hosting Going Places in a holiday cocktail party! Last year, they had over 200 guests and we expect this year to be even bigger!!!! They have pulled out ALL the stops and you WON'T want to miss it!! Plus, this open to the public party will benefit Going Places!
Top shelf open bar, light snacks, Saluda Shoals will be performing all night, Santa (because adults never get to take pics with Santa), and MORE SURPRISES! Donations made at the event will be matched, dollar for dollar by SweetGrass Capital!!

We are so thrilled to be hosting in this wonderful event by The Harbour Club and Andrew Larson with Primerica! Come get your drink on while supporting the disadvantaged kids who live in our community!
The money raised at this event will help buy the 500 bikes needed for EVERY child who attends Sanders-Clyde Elementary!

Ghost Monkey Brewery Fundraiser
August 4, 2018 — Ghost Monkey Brewery hosted Going Places in a fundraiser where they donated 15% of all beer sales from the day and several local businesses donated to the raffle, all raising $1,200 for Going Places!"

THE BRICK FUNDRAISER
July 2018 — Join us at The Brick: Charleston's Favorite Tavern during the month of July becasue when you order the charity burger of the month, a portion of the proceeds is donated to Going Places!
SHELTER KITCHEN + BAR
June 20, 2018 — The Shelter Kitchen + Bar teamed up with New Belgium Brewing to raffle off a Limited Editon New Belgium Bike that Going Places' dear friend, local Charleston Realtor, Jon Stroud, had previously won. New Belgium donated beer for The Shelter to sell, proceeds going to Going Places and getting you a ticket to enter to win the bike! Belk has an amazing program to give back to charities and Going Places is excited to participate this year!! ​Monday, February 26th, starting at 5 p.m., Sorghum & Salt will be hosting Going Places in a fundraising dinner; Chef Tres Jackson of Sorghum & Salt is partnering up with Chef Nate Whiting of Juliet, to create 10 signature dishes and two dim sum items!
​
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! There will also be a special dish, spicy Heritage Foods pork ragu, house made spaghetti, collard kimchi, and Parmesan, that will be available on the menu at Sorghum & Salt for all of February, with the proceeds benefitting Going Places!!
​
With this ongoing campaign, Chef Jackson and Chef Whiting will be helping to purchase 300 bikes, made by Affordabike, locks, and helmets for the surprise bike reveal at Mt. Zion Elementary School on May 1st!!!!

RED ZONE
Mount Pleasant's Pivotal Fitness Red Zone hosted Going Places in a charity workout December 16, 2017 led by Coach Rob Spragis! The largest donation went home with an Athleta Gift Card!
ATHLETA + BARRE CODE
Athleta and Barre Code teamed up with Going Places and during Barre Codes pop up workout in the Athlea Store, any gifts you wanted wrapped, Going Places wrapped them in exchange for a donation made to us.
